North Sea contracts draw on OSV owner’s versatility

Norway’s DOF Subsea has secured contracts with an estimated value of Nkr80M (US$9.2M) from clients in the UK and Norway to be carried out over the next few months in the North Sea.

The contracts are for a variety of activities and capabilities including unexploded ordnance (UXO) investigation and detonation, seabed mapping, pipeline and structural inspection, and seabed rectification support.

Three additional North Sea frame agreements for inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) and survey work were also secured by DOF Subsea.

In total, the contracts utilise approximately 100 vessel days.

For the awards, DOF Subsea will deploy two construction support vessels, Skandi Skansen and Geosund, and the anchor handling tug supply vessel Skandi Hera.

Based on an STX AH04 design, Skandi Skansen has an offshore deck crane with a 250-tonne capacity, 7.2 m by 7.2 m moonpool and accommodation for 90.

Geosund, a UT 745 design, has an offshore deck crane with a 90-tonne capacity, with a 7.1 m by 6 m moonpool and accommodation for 88.

Skandi Hera, an Ulstein A122 design, has a bollard pull of 277 tonnes.

Commenting on these awards, DOF Subsea Atlantic executive vice president Jan-Kristian Haukeland, said, "The award of these contracts and frame agreements highlights DOF Subsea's versatility and ability to respond to differing client requirements using the extensive experience and competence within our resource pool."
