Norwegian OSV owner Solstad Offshore has announced a contract for construction support vessel Normand Pioneer with Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção (QGEP) and extensions to contracts for PSVs Far Scotsman and Far Serenade with Equinor Brazil.
The QGEP contract is for two years with two yearly options. Normand Pioneer will take over from AHTS Far Sagaris supporting production at the Santos Basin’s Atlanta Field when its contract expires in Q1 2018. Equinor Brazil has extended Far Scotsman and Far Serenade’s contracts by six months apiece.
Built in 1999 to a UT 742 design, Normand Pioneer measures 95 m in length by 24 m in breadth and has a dwt of 5,292. Its port-mounted single-fall active heave-compensated main crane has a capacity of 140 tonnes and it is fitted with a 20 tonne auxiliary winch. The vessel’s A-frame has a capacity of 150 tonnes. Far Scotsman was built in 2012 to a PSV 08 CD design. It measures 81.7 m in length by 18 m in breadth and has a dwt of 4,000.Far Serenade was build in 2009 to a UT 751 CD design with a length is 93.9 m, a breadth is 21 m and a dwt of 5,944.
