Terra Brasilis, the sixth AHTS in a series designed by Havyard for Grupo CBO has entered operation.
The Brazilian shipping company contracted Havyard Design to design four Havyard 843 anchor-handling vessels adapted for Brazilian conditions with greater width and deck capacity in 2014.
In 2016 a further two vessels were added to the contract, which is the biggest individual order ever placed with Havyard Design & Solutions.
Havyard Group’s chief executive officer Johan Bakke said “Co-operating with Grupo CBO has been extremely educational and exciting.”
The Havyard 843 design measures 81 m in length with a breadth of 19.5 m, a maximum draught of 7 m and a dwt of 3,250. It has a maximum speed of 16 knots and a bollard pull of 200-220 tonnes.
The contract for the CBO vessels was a result of Havyard Design & Solutions' focus on the South American market, which has been increasing since 2011.
Havyard Design & Solutions is based in Fosnavåg, Norway, with offices in Poland, Croatia and Shanghai, with a current orderbook worth Nkr175M (£16M).
The company said the six vessels comprising the CBO order were an important part of its orderbook and had ripple effects for other businesses in the Havyard Group, including Norwegian Control Systems AS, which provided navigation and communications equipment as well as complete electrical engineering services for the vessels.
