The contract also covers towing and reconnecting both Njord A and Njord B in 2020. Equinor, formerly known as Statoil, has chartered the newbuild deepwater installation vessel Island Victory for Global Maritime’s use in the 2019 campaign.
Island Offshore’s Island Victory is an AHTS/deepwater installation vessel built by Vard to a Rolls-Royce UT 797 CX design. It measures 123.4 m in length by 25 m in width and has a dwt of 6,000.
Global Maritime worked with Equinor on the Njord Future Marine project from 2015-2017. The scope of work included disconnecting and towing Njord B and Njord A and included a contract extension for recovering the Njord B STL system, the power cable between Nord A and Njord B and lifting and supporting seven risers at Njord A.
