Wintershall Norge has extended its charter contract for Golden Energy's PSV Energy Swan to 31 December 2018.
The vessel was initially chartered by the Germany-based crude oil and natural gas producer in 2013 for four years, with options to extend by a further four years. Following this most recent extension, the charterers still have the option to extend the contract further, up to 30 November 2021.
No value was given for the extension but Ålesund, Norway-based OSV owner Golden Energy said in an announcement the rate reflected market conditions.
Energy Swan was built by Brattvaag Skipsverft in 2005 to an ST 216 SL design. The large PSV/pipe carrier measures 93.4 m long by 19.2 m wide, has a draft of 6.9 m and a dwt of 5,300. DNV GL has assigned it an ice class of FS Ice Class II and a Clean notation. It has an economy speed of 12 knots and a full speed of 18.5 knots.
