SolstadFarstad's construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Tonjer has been contracted by geophysical survey firm Fairfield Industries.
Commencing in Q3 2018, the contract has a one-year duration with two yearly options. The vessel will be used to support Fairfield's ocean-bottom seismic survey work, which utilises node-based technology.
Normand Tonjer was built in 2010 by Kleven Verft. It measures 95.3 m in length, 21 m in breadth, has a 9.1 m draft and a dwt of 5,260. The main crane has a 100-tonne capacity and the vessel has two deck-cranes with a capacity of 3 tonnes apiece.
In terms of propulsion, the vessel has two 2,880 kW main engines, two fixed bow thrusters, one stern thruster and one bow-mounted azimuthing thruster, with a total bhp of 11,600.
