Announcement of a new course: Helicopter Landing Officer
We are pleased to announce a new training course in Lerus Training Centre - Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO).
Who is HLO? The Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the helideck, associated helideck operations and supervision of the Helideck Assistants (HDAs). The HLO will also be responsible for leading the initial response to a helicopter emergency on an offshore fixed, mobile, floating installation or vessel and leading the HDA helideck emergency response team during the emergency.

Our training centre must be approved by Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO) to provide this training course. We are working to create the material and technical base, which will meet all requirements of OPITO.
Helipad in Lerus Training Centre
Equipment for HLO training course. We are still working on our equipment. We need the following equipment to provide this course:
1) Helideck Structure
2) Helicopter Fire and Emergency Response (ER) simulator
3) Firefighting Capability
4) Rescue Equipment and Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
We expect the commission of OPITO to verify our equipment and training program in April 2014. We will keep you informed about status of this course
